And I am sorry to say I didn´t like the episode all that much. Though I am still intrigued as to who this August dude is. I also still love Regina. Her evil is at times hilarious, cunning and spiteful. It is also the only thing that is keeping me interested in this show.
And she told me that Regina’s last name was Mills (I know that) and that the Evil Queen’s family was a Miller’s family! (I had not realized that!). Well done show.

I have thoughts, they have probably already been said, but I still want/need to share them.
I was disappointed with the episode. Not because the story wasn’t good, but because it wasn’t executed well. I know what they were trying to portray. Regina was an abused child, who found real love, but was “betrayed” and thus lost her love which in turn made her evil. However, this wasn’t shown properly! The only way I really got this was because of the acting, not the actual story arc or the dialogue. Ask yourself this, why is it that Ruby (who is a wolf and actually killed a WHOLE bunch of people) gets all the sympathy, but Regina doesn’t? Because Ruby doesn’t control it and Regina supposedly does. However, she doesn’t. She is not in control of her hate. THAT is what this episode was supposed to prove. Imagine how much pain she must have felt and been through, growing up with an abusive mother and a father who let it all happen (frankly, it’s the stuff serial killers are made off). All of that pain can quite easily turn into uncontrollable anger. The moment she lost that control was when Snow told her she had shared her secret with the one person she fears the most and had thus “betrayed” her. Lana acted this perfectly (and in some of the reviews that I’ve read this is what is picked up upon), but the story that came before wasn’t good enough.
This is all my opinion of course, but I truly wish it has been done better. This episode hit very close to home and maybe that’s why I felt it so strongly. I have experienced that transference of anger and trust me, it can go entirely unnoticed. Here are some random thoughts on the episode.
Anyway, long post is long. Lemme reblog some awesome gifs now!
(It could be bunnies! Oh shit no, wrong show).
About one miss Regina Mills. Who else did you think ;).
Not about the Evil Queen. The Evil Queen is not difficult to figure out. In fact, if you haven’t figured her out yet, I really wonder what show you have been watching. The Evil Queen is a woman who was hurt. She lost something and it made her bitter which translated into evil. Snow White had something to do with the pain and thus the queen now targets her. Evidence? All.over.the.place. Most glaringly the letter Snow writes the Queen when the Hunter has to kill her. But the latest episode, Heart of Darkness, clearly shows how losing all the love in your heart can make you become evil. Snow was on the same path the Queen took and Charming aka Love saved her. Plain and simple. I don’t need “Stable Boy” to spell it out. Although I do wonder about the specifics, knowing the full story will in no way change my mind in regards to how I feel about this character.
No. I am talking about Madame Mayor. Miss Regina Mills. Who is desperately trying to prevent Emma from breaking her curse and doing everything she can to keep the promise she made, to destroy everyone’s happiness. However! Wasn’t this supposed to be her happy ending? I’ve been thinking about this quite a bit. Some people have speculated that her heart is also missing or in a box. I like that idea. For me personally, and let me bold that, personally, I’ve got a different idea.Because it is my opinion and in all honesty, I don’t really trust the writers of this show, they seem to villainize Regina every chance they get, yet they present us with all the evidence of a beautifully, broken character. But lets get to the point.
My theory is this, Regina can not be loved. Not because she is unlovable, nobody is unlovable, but because of something else. Maybe something that happened in the fairytale land or maybe because her curse had a price. She wanted her happy ending and for everybody else to have no happiness, well she succeeded in the second part, but in doing so, she got tossed in with the group? It would certainly explain Henry’s apathy towards her and the whole town’s attitude towards their mayor. She has technically not done anything bad yet in the town, well, until Heart of Darkness (supposedly!!!). I also think Snow alluded to this in her letter. See, this letter is important. I need to look it up again and definitely transcribe it.
The reason for my theory, is that I need an explanation. I need a plausible explanation for all this weird behaviour. They go out of their way to explain everything else, but not this and it bothers me. Like a lot. But then again, it has to be tied to The Evil Queen and so maybe the next few episodes will provide me with the explanation. Just wanted to put my two cents out there.
I think anything is possible. In television, definitely. I also think it wouldn’t be out of left field, cause the set up is there. For sure. Only true love’s kiss can break the curse? I mean come on.
Do I think they’ll actually let it happen. I am sceptical. Very sceptical. The track record is not very good here. However, they could easily, easily make it happen. Imagine if they did! The endless possibilities for love and redemption and novelty and good story-telling. Gosh, it would make a so far slightly mediocre show with good actors, brilliant. In my opinion of course. I have several scenarios in my head in which it could work nicely, lol.
So, is it a fairytale? No. Is it a possibility? We can all dream, right?
Everybody just seems so meek and subservient next to her.
Her interaction with Kathryn was so telling. Kathryn saying she wasn’t a good friend hurt her, so by the time she came around again to apologize the damage was already done. And during that second talk you could literally see her face go from stone-faced mayor who is being blind-sided by her friend to evil plans brewing inside my gorgeous head. Lol. I couldn’t describe it any other way.
