So my stuff is almost completely packed. Did all my shopping this afternoon. Cleaned (almost) everything. And just got myself a bed to stay tomorrow night. Feeling cautiously excited at the moment. Albany looks like a nice place to stay overnight and then I’m off to Bremer Bay, where I’ll hopefully be able to finally earn some money. I wanted to do a LOT more here before I left, including on Tumblr (I still haven’t posted those pics Larissa, sorry!), but I had to fight procrastination hard, lol.
I got a friend coming over tonight whose gonna drive me up to Perth tomorrow morning for my bus, so if I don’t make it back on here, I’ve set up a little queue to post once a day in case the internet situation is BAD over there.
GUYS I AM MOVING AGAIN AND I DON’T KNOW WHAT’S GONNA HAPPEN AAAAAHHHHH
Tam O’Shaughnessy, life partner of Sally Ride, moments before she accepts the Presidential Medal of Freedom on behalf of the first female American astronaut. Yesterday (20 Nov.) the medal was posthumously awarded to Ride for her work in science and education. Sally Ride is the first female NASA individual to be awarded this medal*.
* The Apollo 13 Mission Operations Team as a whole was also rewarded this medal, their award was presented as a group award. I have not been able to find out who the women on this team were.
